The world of Motorcycles has all the ingredients of a good, enriching drama; heroic deeds, political intrigue, design brilliance, cut-throat business practices, quirky characters, national tensions, cultural biases, eros and thanatos.
When diving into the murk of motorcycle history, we find unexpected riches...everything which makes this life interesting, and worth living.
Motorcycles per se are just metal; it is individuals who animate them, and inhabit the stories within this site. We provide meaning to the metal, and in telling the story of Motorcycling, we tell the story of our world.

So beautiful - the scenery, the machinery, the camaraderie! To say I wish I were there is an understatement. Thanks for making me smile and feel sorry for myself at the same time. -JZ
Would you have some history on the Europeanized road racing Harley with the rear cylinder flipped intake/exhaust and the GP(?) carbs?
Lovely. Such a tease...
Great photos, Paul!
I second the request for the Harley's history
You've outdone yourself with these last two posts, Paul.
Hard toi believe that you'll be back in Ca in time for
the MotoMelee..
Hello,
I'm a regular reader of your blog. Your hill-climb posts are among the best I've seen. What a wonderful gathering of machines. Anyway, I decided that it's better to ask fogiveness than permission at this point since the damage has already been done, so I'm asking forgiveness for using a couple of your shots on my blog. I was struck by the Harley at Grossglockner and had to write about it. If you would like them removed I'd be happy to do so. I'm fairly new to blogging, and have a practically non-existent following, but to get right with my conscience I'm writing now.
I'd say keep up the good work, but I don't presume motivation from your readers is what keeps you doing it. Motorcycle alone motivate us enough, no?
Thanks for sharing your travels,
Jason Everts
